Statewide Endangered

Archive 1995-2007

In the thirteen years of Landmarks Illinois’ “Ten Most Endangered” program, 132 properties have been listed. Some of these structures or sites have been saved; others, unfortunately, have been destroyed. Still other properties remain threatened or a rehabilitation effort is pending.

The “scorecard” reads: 38-26-65-3 (i.e., 38 saved, 26 lost, 65 still threatened, 3 other). The following reports are based on recent interviews with local preservationists.
